about

This is a cassette rife with my newfound passion for classical music, a desire to Rock Hard, and continued playing with the conventions of the song form with sound effects and dialogue snippets.

If there is fault to be found (and there is) I'd say my full-bodied embrace of my new (at the time) KORG digital grand piano has not aged well. I was chagrined shortly after this album was completed to hear many of my sounds on TV commercials.

From 2006-2010 I tried remastering this album from the very roots, copying each individual 4-track element and mixing them separately, with appropriate EQ. Unfortunately not all the required tracks could be found, and for a couple songs (notably STAR STRIP) it was impossible to fix the basic, muddy guitar tracks. That said, I still feel this is a highly improved version of this tape, as many subsonic rumbles were removed and vocals and voice snippets were made sharper and more clear.

This tape also features the very first appearance of Chris Assells on Guest Lead Guitar. Chris would go on to appear on at least 8 more albums, with no end in sight.

For bonus tracks, we have a gnarly cover version of Famous Friend by Russ Stedman, and an alternate CHEERS with drum machine and incorrect lyrics.
