The Becker's House at Christmas time is all done up with lifelike moving dolls The Becker's House at Christmas time has cartoon characters and little strings for the dolls 10,000 Christmas lights is really quite a thrill but how do they pay their electric bill? The Becker's House at Christmas time is packed with lifelike moving dolls They're so alive, it's kind of spooky Their big white faces scare poor Julie She thinks the Becker dolls might sneak into our house And crawl right into bed And strangle her to death with their porcelain fingers Creepy little porcelain fingers Clammy little porcelain fingers The Beckers live in Simi Valley Their Christmas house is not that far to drive to The Becker's House at Christmas time always has a parking space so it's not hard to get to You can even go there after Christmas if you want But after New Year's Day, it's gone

You gotta be as rich as Bill Gates To play with toy trains Have you ever been to the train shop, just looking around? Trains start at 300 bucks and they never come down Don't ever get near the stuff behind the glass You touch those trains, they'll toss you on your ass You know you can't afford them if you gotta ask You just must wonder who can bear such freight Well, look no further than nerdy Bill Gates And my son doesn't understand He gets a buck allowance and he thinks he can buy the original Disney Train That's selling for $1648 The problem he faced is: he isn't Bill Gates When John Lennon first found out He had lots of money He bought a bunch of slot car racing sets They filled three rooms and I know they're not toy trains But you get the idea You gotta be Gates to play with toy trains

about

18 years later: finally sort of finished!

Between 2002 and early 2003 I began working on an album called "Tales of the Middle Ages." My 4-track project "Highway Patrolled By Aircraft" had bogged down, and I was inspired to try my first all-digital album at my Soundelux studio. I also set myself the goal of recording the songs in order, which is totally the opposite of what I usually do. If a song didn't work, I had to throw it out and try another one.

I was about 60% finished with the album when my wife Julie had a horrific car accident which later took her life. Of course I had to pause all my music to take care of my family, and I doubted I'd ever want to revisit this album in the future. Because it had mostly temp vocals, no bass, and was missing at least three songs, I called it "UNFINISHED" and gave it Don Campau to release it on Lonely Whistle.

Recently I revisited two of the UNFINISHED songs on my 2020 CD "The Dunning-Kruger Effect." That broke the ice in considering whether to tackle the other songs. Though it would be impossible to truly finish this album (all the digital files were lost to drive crashes) I figured it might not hurt to finally add bass guitar and a couple vocals to the temp mixes to fill them out.

In general, the early songs are the closest to being finished, with the last couple thinning out considerably.

I'm so glad to get these songs somewhat spruced up as they were always some of my favorites, and I was sad I couldn't do right by them at the time.
